Here's a newly open Korean restaurant and had the social media crazy over it.
So here I am to try this out. If you ask me, I personally feels that the food was just average. Like nothing special about it, duh. What makes it special is the structure of the pot I guess. The main dish- the squid- was not bad but it doesn't worth the price of rm70 per pot, plus it states for 3 pax but 2 was just nice. Somehow overpriced. The kimchi fried rice is disappointing! The rice was bland and cold... and hard. I just had a spoon and that's all. Didn't manage to get the picture of their fried chicken, but still, their fried chicken was average as well at the price of RM20 for 4 pieces.

Enjoy your food open air! This korean restaurant has been open for years and still full of people every night!
It's not my first time, what makes my return is their varieties of the side dishes and their food was actually quite nice. This time we ordered beef bulgogi and Pork Kimbab. I personally feel that if the there's more soup in the bulgogi will be nicer, as their bulgogi goes for a gravy version. And I love their kimbab! You'll never enough for the super tender grill beef! Whenever I make a trip to Johor Bahru, other than their local specialities that I'd mentioned in my previous blog and Vlog, I will visit some Korean BBQ restaurant (Y)
Why? Well, I love their variety of side dishes. You can say I take this criteria as one of a reason I chose certain Korean BBQ restaurant. The last trip I made is to NamMoon Korean BBQ Restaurant, so I chose it's neighbour restaurant Kimchi & BBQ Restaurant. Their are located just few shop lots away. Have you tried Chilli Crab Pasta? You'll definitely encounter difficulties in making your choice! Tastea Cafe mainly serve brunch, teas and pastas!
They served various variety of pastas- and their signature Chilli Crab Pasta thats suit Malaysian flavours! I ordered Chilli Fish Pasta, same sauce , just different toppings. Thin angel hair pasta together with creamy chilli gravy, special combination! In fact. it is not spicy at all. More than 10 side dishes (Y) ! I had to say in KL we hardly find a Korean BBQ Restaurant that serve more than 10 side dishes.
One reason I visit Nam Moon Korean BBQ is because they really serve quite a number of side dishes, unlimited refill! Well, if you don't wanna smell bad you can make a choice to sit at seats without grill plate, so they will grill the meat for you readily and serve in front of you YAY! My Favourite Japanese Shabu-Shabu so far! Everytime when I wanna have shabu shabu in Johor Bahru. Bushido is my choice! It is located at Taman Pelangi Johor Bahru. My favourite broth is their Tom Yam Soup! You can taste even taste its herb and it is rather spicy! Some may not be able to accept its taste, but it taste just right for me.
Their Kimchi broth is good too, but I personally prefer thicker soup. Their Kimchi Broth is a bit bland for me. I would love to have the third bowl of Kimchi Soup if I can still fit in! Tanba Yakiniku is a Japanese Style BBQ Buffet first opened in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru. I visited their second branch which is located at Twin Galaxy. Jalan Dato Abdullah Tahir.
Ultimately Delicious Braised Duck Noodle! I loveeee Braised Duck Noodle or rather similar to 粿条仔 (Kuey Tiaw Gia) in Johor Bahru. You can't find such delicious dish in KL.
Taika Huat is one of my favourite among many of these restaurant. Best Hainanese Beef Noodle in Town! Well, I love Hainanese Noodle. I usually had my Hainanese Noodle in a cafe in town but it seems that the cafe stopped operating anymore.
So I found one served Hainanese Noodle, which are located in Adda Height. A little bit further from town, but it definitely worth going! Classic Homecook Thai Food! Good Pad Thai; Bad Mango Salad! Arrived Johor Bahru!
We went here for dinner which is nearby Century Garden. It's a housing area, renovated to a restaurant. Well, we came here as we saw some advertisement of it, so we came to try if it is as good as it rated. Among all dishes ordered, I like their Pad Thai the most. It taste just right, sweet yet irresistible. Maybe a little oily , but overall gave me a good impression of it. Their Tom Yam soup is good! Thick and Spicy, just the way I enjoy it. Maybe not so similar like what we had in Thailand but it just match Malaysian taste just right. As for the other dishes, I felt rather average and nothing stands out from other Thai Restaurant. Their Green Curry Chicken was rather bland. |
