What to eat in Kampar, Perak? Hey Hey, here comes my food review for my trip to Kampar!
Ever wonder what's their speciality? Curry Chicken Bread! It isn't my favourite, but as a tourist like me of course you have to eat like local. I was brought to Restoran Jia by my aunty who currently lives in Kampar. So she recommended this place and I just follow! Basically, Curry Chicken Bread is where the chicken wrapped inside the bread, a very big bread. Quite a big portion, even smaller size are for 2-3 pax. To me personally, there's nothing special regarding the taste. Just normal curry chicken. Sorry for spoiler. Hahaha Curry gravy are also average, a little bit over rated if you read some blog recommendations. Other dishes served here are also quite common, so I personally thinks that I will not make my second trip here. Unless asked otherwise. And sorry for the not so nice pictures taken cause you know, dining with aunties is a little bit more troublesome! Guess What?
The place for my lunch today! Yeah Guess What is their name. 'GUESS WHAT' Cute Name - although it is not relevant hahaha So Guess What they are selling? Vietnamese Cuisine! It is located at Kota Damansara, just beside Sushi Mentai. So we ordered Aussie Beef Pho, Handmade Beef Ball Pho and Summer Rolls. Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup consisting of broth and rice noodles. I came across its advertisement in FB, promoting by few Food Recommendations Pages in FB, and their "over-rated" reviews so yeah, I came and had a try. The taste of the Pho Noodles is good, but nothing special. You can find it in any Vietnamese Restaurant. But the portions of the meat they gave is quite generous. It's my second attempt to this restaurant.
Guess most of you would be familiar if you're living in KL cause many of the Facebook Food Blogger had been adviertising about it. What attracts me is the appearance of the food - where it seems like the seafood is fully filled on the plate! I tried the no spicy one and B- spicy level (which is the least spicy of all) as my little cousin don't take spicy food. Both broth are equally delicious! I would go for a spicy version cause I personally like spicy food. But it to be honest B- is already quite spicy so if you're not a chilli person then I wouldn't suggest this. I remembered this cost RM148 ( with fish, squid, prawns and lala ). Vegetables are add on item. Thought of bringing her to some nice restaurant but we ended up here which is nearest to her place. The Name of the restaurant brings an illusion like a fancy western cafe but it ended up otherwise. It's a Hong Kong Style Restaurant that serves both Asian and Western food. My grandma ordered Pork Chop- which we all think it is too dry and hard. However my XO Fried Noodle was surprisingly better than I expected. Golden Crispy Pork Bun was average. The service is still acceptable except for the waiter and waitress there hardly understand our language Reviews: Food: 5/10 Ambience: 5/10 ( Nicely decorated, but too many flies!) Price: 6/10 Service: 6/10 Parking:8/10 ( New area ) Address: 1-G, Jalan Tengah, Cheras Selatan 118, 43200 Cheras, Selangor This is my 3rd attempt to Sozo Japanese Buffet.
I would suggest to purchase it in Fave ( formerly Groupon ) as the price will be approx RM10 cheaper per pax. I got my voucher at Fave for RM 98 for 2. What I loved most is their Mango Soft Shell Crab Salad!
