My trip to the newly opened Movie Animations Park Studios (MAPS). Is it really bad as rumoured? Find out. Day 1 Our first stop is at Kampar to visit our relatives. We had their famous Curry Chicken Bread which every travellers to Kampar must try! Well, how does it taste? Read my reviews of this Restoran Jia! After we took a break and checked in to Hotel Excelsior, we went for Soya Beancurd! Initially I wanted to try out another place as I tried Funny Mountain Soya before, but it seems like we are late :( So we went to Funny Mountain Soya Beancurd, click HERE for its review! Moving on we went for our shopping! Of course we had to buy some local snacks back. We went to Sin Eng Heong pastry shop, right opposite Tuck Kee Restaurant! Right after, we saw a lot of people queuing in front of Tuck Kee, so we quickly secure a place there. While waiting for our food to arrive, I went to buy curry fishball at a small kopitiam opposite Tuck Kee. After n minutes of waiting, yay our food had arrived! It's my second attempt here, and yes I still love their baby octopus!!! Read my reviews of Tuck Kee Restaurant to see what's still good in there! Day 2 Depart to MAPS IPOH! We brought the ticket online for approx RM140 per adult. They are still under renovation, so they gave us free tickets. It looks like a buy 1 free 1 then. However, they tickets only valid until end of September -.- Without their highlights park, the Dream Zone, the park is definitely lost its attractiveness in it. Overall, it is small, and they are only about 4-5 rides that adult might be interest in. Others are rather childish, especially their Smurf Performance -.- This is the only face I can show. All their shows were bad, seriously bad. Somehow a bit "Shiok Sendiri". For RM70 , I rather top up RM20 more to go Sunway Lagoon. I wonder even if the Dream Zone is open, how big they can be? We went in about 10am, and by 1pm we already leave the park. Plus, the weather is seriously hot. Do bring sunblock if you're going there! What's more, we won a lucky draw and receive 2 complimentary tickets, which ends in end of July. -.- Again this face, how could they expect us for outstation, going all the way up to Ipoh again within the same month or next? After our 3 hours there, we went to Lou Wong Nga Choi Gei. (Beansprout Chicken) They are actually separate dishes, like ours in Kuala Lumpur. It just that their beansprout here a fatter, Lou Wong actually had several branches in Ipoh. Along the way you're driving around Ipoh you can see a yellow shop lot which is Lou Wong. I went to the branch near Er Nai Xiang, Ipoh's famous street. The Boss there was rather fierce tho. There was one chicken rice there as well beside lou wong but its always long queuing. If you willing to queue, try it and tell me whether it is nice! :P
